One of several areas around Stanley which remains largely off-limits to the public due to the presence of uncleared Argentinian mines from the 1982 conflict, the South Stanley Minefields cover much of the area Southeast of Sapper Hill and East of Mullet Creek, with the heaviest mining believed to lie along the cove shorelines and beaches to deter English amphibious invasion.
