Highams Park Lake was formed in the early 19th Century by Humphrey Repton in the grounds of the Highams Estate, the estate was owned by Highams Bensted who lived in the Manor House (Now Woodford High School for Girls.) The lake and the adjacent park is now owed by the Corporation of London.
