Naigaon is a central neighbourwood of Mumbai and part of Dadar ward.
There is also a place in Thane District with the same name.
In the Past, Naigaon was a Housing settlement area of the Mill Workers. It was chosen as a place for the Mill workers as it had many Mills and Factories nearby in Parel, Lalbaug and Sewri. Most of these Mills are now Defunct.
It has many Bombay Development Department (B.D.D.) Chawls. It is also considered to be the hub of Mumbai Police, as it has many colonies of Mumbai Police Officials and Staff alongwith a Training and Recruitment Center and a Hospital Specifically devoted to Mumbai Police Officials.
