Historically a settlement of Kolis (Fisherfolk)...Koliwada, this place has grown into a cosmoplitan place with a good mix of people from diverse communities.
Though from the looks of it a modern place, traditionalists will be pleased with traditional rites and festivities still celebrated by the kolis with gusto in versova village, who though modern have not let go of their traditions and proudly flaunt their traditions.

Year by year versova has become the choice of bollywood filmstars also because of a sea side silent place.
