Former Neuendorf, modern name is Shyroke in Ukrainian or Shirokoe in Russian.
A village in Zapororozhskij rajon (district) of Zaporozhskaja oblast' (province) of Ukraine.
It was founded in 1865 as a German colony. Up to the end of the 2nd World War the name of the village was Neuendorf. It is the home of many Germans who live in Germany today.
The meaning of modern name is 'a wide (village)'.
