Ponnequin wind farm, located on the Colorado side of the Wyoming-Colorado border 10 miles south of Cheyenne, Wyoming, ceased operations on Dec 31, 2015.

Originally constructed in 1999 (phases I & II) with 22 NEG Micon NM48/750 wind turbines and added to in 2001 with an additional 7 such turbines as well as 15 Vestas V47/660 units, the farm as a whole was rated at a nameplate capacity of 31.62 MW.

The towers were scheduled to be taken down (dynamited) in the fall of 2016, but it is not clear (to me) whether this happened. Latest reports (Dec 2016) indicate that Xcel Energy is "exploring options" about the future of the site.

Late 2018 still not shut down. A mess of local, state and federal regulations.
