Estate home designed by Delano & Aldrich in the Georgian Revival style c. 1916 on 106 acres of land for James Abercrombie Burden, Jr {industrialist, financier} based on the design of "Whitehall House" in Annapolis, Maryland. Burden served as president of Burden Iron Works of Troy, NY, vice-president of Eastern Steel, director of American Iron & Steel Institute, and director of United National Bank of Troy, NY. Burden's wife Florence Sloane on the Four Hudred list prior their to marriage. Delano & Aldrich was commissioned by Burden to design the garage, gatehouse, stable and farm complex in 1926. Additionally, they collaborated with Olmsted on extensive formal garden designs from 1922-24. During his visit to Long Island in the 1920's, the estate was occupied by the Prince of Wales.

The estate is now adaptively reused as the Woodcrest Country Club which filed for bankruptcy in 2010.
