If this is the right area, it would be the Family Visitation area. Trusty inmates are allowed to have family come to stay in these private cottages for 72 hours. They are allowed to bring food to prepare. There is a fishing area. Mississippi was the first state to allow conjugal visitation, to keep husbands and wives as close as possible. Lore has it, that in the past, Camp Sergeants would bring in prostitutes for the inmates. The thinking was, a happy inmate makes a happy worker. It was all about making the State money. Until around 1955, Parchman Farm was the state's largest source of revenue, even surpassing taxation.
