  • It is actually Bob Reeve high school, named for the original owner/operator of Reeve Aleutian Airways who because of his supply services to the military during WWII was given exclusive landing rights to the military bases in the Aleutian Chain. I was on Adak at Clam Lagoon AUG 75-AUG 76 and AUG 80-AUG 81.
  • Thanks! Corrected.
  • This was never a DOD school. It was part of the Alaska school system. Base actually closed to families in 1994. I know, since I was one of the last "kids" at the time to leave! I was there for 11th grade (1993-1994).
  • The school you have pictured and the school in the video are not the same. The video is of the old Bob Reeve High School that was turned over to the Navy in 1992 when the Navy Exchange had to be closed due to earthquake damage. The building in the photos is the New Bob Reeve High School / Mount Moffett Middle School which is now used as a town hall, school, and medical clinic. The schools on Adak were run by the State of Alaska, however, the new building was funded by the Department of the Navy and was used only for two years before the district closed its doors in 1994.
  • Is Bob Reeve high school the same as Adak high? I started kindergarten at Adak high in 1967, At that time there was only one school.
