Linstow was for centuries the seat of the noble family Linstow.
In 1939/40, 73 Wolhynian-German families came to Linstow, who migrated to this area after the German-Soviet Border and Friendship Treaty. They erected their traditional wooden houses, of which one is the Wolhynian migration Museum Linstow since 1993. Most traditional houses in Listow were rebuilt in a less characteristic form. There is an annual meeting of Wolhynian-Germans in Linstow.
