Exact history of this property is somewhat vague, but locals claim it was a "secret radio monitoring post" during WW-II.

Former CIA and Army radio intercept station - What is known for sure is that at some point in the 1950s, & up until the early 1970s, the site was used by the CIA's FBIS, which monitored foreign broadcast radio services such as Radio Moscow, Radio Peking, et al and transcribed their broadcasts for political intelligence analysis back in Washington DC by the State Dept & CIA HQ. The surrounding land that now grows crops once sprouted a variety of high-frequency radio antennas.

When the FBIS site shut-down in the early 1970s, there was discussion of turning the property over to the Defense Civil Preparedness Agency for construction of a regional federal government relocation center & hardened communications facility, but this was never done.

The former CIA FBIS structure was handed over to the Bureau of Indian Affairs and is now a community center for a local Native American tribe. The surrounding grounds were eventually given over to the county, which now operates a juvenile detention center and community college agricultural research facility on the land.

Most of the bujildings and vineyards belong to the Santa Rosa Junior College.
