I don't like snide people who you simply know are talking about you behind your back.

Calling people "snobs" because they have a quiet island to themselves is as bad as branding people who live on council housing estates as scum. It's arrogance and it happens both ways. If you don't like the island, stay off it and let them be, because that's what they want to have on the island.
  • I am glad to see that there is no snobbery or prejudice on the island.It is good to know this as a black Afro-Carribean man.I think it is the most exquisite and idyllic place in the whole of London-and that is why I am now actively seeking to buy a property on Trowlock Island.I want some place were my children will be able to grow up free from worries about knife crime and teenage contraceptive pregnancy. I will live on the island with my wife,four kids,my uncle and grandma.I know that houses on the island can be quite expensive,but that's no sweat,I've got property in Jamaica which I can sell up at short notice,so I can get the dough.I know that houses also don't come up for sale all that often,so that's why I am puttin out a plea in the hope that someone on the island reads this and is happening to be thinking about selling up...Whatever you want an d i'll up the price by a couple of grand more,just so I can secure at all costs this house purchase.Now that is a damn good offer in this depressed house market situation you're in in this country. I am glad there is no prejudice on the island.No man(or woman or child) should be picked on jus coz the colur of their skin(or their taste in music)...And I'm sure none of that goes on on Trowlock Island.Burt I gotta tell you I did go over to the island one evening a couple of weeks ag and I did get some strange looks as I looked around doing a recce of the place-as my mortgage broker asked me to do...Hey,maybe those guys who were giving me the hoodoo were just scared I was looking their places over in order to break in and rob!!! Perhaps it didn't have anything to do with the colour of my skin. The little place with the boats by the water under the trees would be a great place for the whole family in the summer just to sit out and chill,have a picnic and listen to some cool soothing reggae dub.The kids running around having fun.Perhaps they can make friends with the other kids on the island and make up gangs...like the Famous Five and stuff.   • Hey, yes this is a great island to live on - I did for 9 years. You are also right that it is a great place for kids to grow up, but they have to get off to go to school and shop, etc etc. This place is safe from many things, but life off the island still goes on and you can't get away from it totally.   • Moi eenglesh not very goode. Trowlock Island is same as a filme I ave looked at as it is similar to "the prisoner" lead role Patrice Mcgoohan. Cheque on google!!! Many suspicious eyes and CCTV. Neighbours watching all going on and each uzzer. No privacie. Not like habiting a normale street. Ze main rendez-vous for inhabitantes is ze ferry wiz chain to pull across. Zere es much gossipy going on on ze ferr.
  • The island is not quite the poubelle (trash can) Basil suggests it is. It is a small community and is the same as all other small, village style communities in nature. It is almost unique to get a true village in the metropolis that is London. With the "North End" parkland, it is like "Swallows and Amazons" for kids. A great place for baptistraggaman to bring up his kids.
