Lundy Island

United Kingdom / England / Flexbury /
island, interesting place, National Trust property (UK)

Largest island in the Bristol channel.

Purported to have been a base for English Knights Templar in the fourteenth century.

The Island was famous for its Puffin colony, now sadly depleted, and at one time the owner issued private coins and postage stamps, denominated in "puffins". The stamps are still printed as collectors' items, but with no postal value.
