Large lily ponds fill the valleys and lead down to Broad Haven south, a beautiful unspoiled white sandy beach with dunes. Unusually at this location the Dunes can be found forming on top of the cliffs as well as at sea level.
These lakes did not exist until the late 18th century, when the Cawdor family made the lakes by damming the narrow limestone valleys that the lakes now fill. They now support a healthy cross section of wildlife and are well stocked with all kinds of fish, including Roach, Perch and Tench.
