hotel, apartment building, historical layer / disappeared object
Built in 1950 as the largest apartment building in the South, with over 1000 units, the complex served variously as a hotel and even offices. It was for a time the Sheraton-Delta Hotel, a Ramada, the Grand Palace Hotel, and The Crescent on Canal. It closed in 2007 as a result of Hurricane Katrina and was demolished in 2012 to make way for the new Louisiana State University Hospital.
