mill, flour mill
Archer Daniels Midland's (ADM) Buffalo mill is an operational wheat flour milling facility constructed in 1923 by Pillsbury Company to mill grain received in the adjoining Great Northern Elevator from lake freighters.
Purchased by ADM in 1993, the mill presently employs 95 workers who produce flour for bakeries and retail stores, which is distributed by either truck or rail. Today the mill is supplied primarily by rail from either ADM's Standard Elevator to the Southeast or from other grain storage facilities. The Buffalo mill is the largest facility of its type operated by ADM.
