This was Picher's stadium, the Picher-Cardin High School teams -- the Gorillas -- played here until the mid-2000's when the athletic programs were cancelled due to low enrollment. Indeed, PCHS was dissolved as a whole in 2009.

In 1984 the Gorillas were state champions of Oklahoma, as a wall at the end of the stadium proudly hails.

Hayman Field was built in 1940 as a project of the Works Progress Administration.
