House of the Actors of MKhAT (Moscow)

This house has been constructed in 1928 under the project of the architect A. V. Shchusev for actors at MKhAT, the Moscow Art Theater.

At various times in this house lived:

- V.I.Kachalov (1875-1948): the national actor of the USSR (1936), the outstanding actor of theatre; lived here since 1928;
- N.N.Litovtseva (1878-1956): the actress, the director and the teacher of MKhAT;
- And. M.Moskvin (1874-1946): the national actor of the USSR (1936); the actor;
- L. M.Leonidov (1873-1941): the national actor of the USSR (1936), the actor, the director, the teacher;
- Е. V.Geltser (1876-1962) ballet dancers, the national actress of Republic (1925; the first of ballet dancers has received this rank); the ballerina Big (1894-1896, 1898-1935) and Mariinsky (1896-1897) theatres;
- V.D.Tikhomirov (1878-1956): the Soviet ballet dancer, the national actor of RSFSR (1934); the ballet master of the Bolshoi theatre (1900-1935) and the teacher in its choreographic school;
- M.E.Liepa (1936-1989): the national actor of the USSR (1976), the outstanding dancer of ballet; taught in the Moscow choreographic school (1963-1980).
