Designed by Treanor & Fatio c. 1937 in the Streamline Moderne style for George W. Vanderbilt, IV on originally 32 acres of the former Sloane estate. His mother lived at "Cedar Knoll" around the corner from Middle Neck Road. Decoration was provided by Paul MacAlister. The roof was by Ludowici-Celadon Corp. The property was profiled in "Town & Country" for Feb. 1938, pgs. 56-65.
