  € 3 Million was taken from the EU by the Bulgarian government to build this facility. Less than 1.5 was spent on the actual low quality construction. Less than one year after opening, the facility has many safety issue due to the falling ceilings, sinkholes in the stadium, the sidewalks, and parking areas are falling in, and the facility does not have sufficient funds to stay open during operating hours, nor to maintain safe chlorine levels in the pool. Every aspect of this project was poorly constructed in order to save money which ended up in the pockets of the Vidin Mayor and other politicians. More than € 1 Million euro was stolen from this project to illegally benefit the politicians involved. The community is again suffering from this corrupt oversight
