This is the hull from the Sidney E. Smith, Jr. It is a steel hulled freighter that was sunk in the St. Clair River by a collision with the Parker Evans in 1972. The hull was recovered and turned into a seawall. The cabins were scrapped. A large section of the self-unloader boom is still on the bottom of the river, and is a popular scuba diving attraction. The hull is a less popular diving attraction. -RG
