The Tsimljansky state natural wildlife preserve of federal submission is created on September, 20th, 1983 by Prikazom Glavohoty of RSFSR № 351. The area of 44 998 hectares

It is located in natural boundary "Kuchugury" and in a coastal zone of the Tsimljansky water basin. Among wood plantings pines, a poplar, an acacia, a birch, an aspen, a willow white are characteristic. Pine forests make artificial landings at the age from 15-40 years. On coast of lakes and in a cover the sedge, a cane, a reed, рогоз prevails. Meet a hawthorn, the sucker silvery, a sloe. The area covered with wood in percentage to a total area - about 10 %.

The fauna is presented by typical kinds: an elk, a wild boar, the roe, a hare-hare, a fox ordinary. From large predators cases of calling of a wolf from territory of the Volgograd region constantly are registered.

The fish fauna is presented by such kinds, as: the bream, a sazan, a pike perch, a crucian, a catfish, ram, a pike.

The list «краснокнижных» animals includes 33 kinds, including: the dozorshchik-emperor, the beauty-girl, the skolija-giant, ктырь huge, тювик European, сапсан, авдотка, стрепет, a polecat steppe.
