This is the bridge over the Great Zab River on the main road from Erbil to Dohuk. Travellers will stay within the autonomous zone controlled by the Kurdish Regional Government (KRG).
The bridge is very narrow and if a truck is passing in one direction, no other vehicles can pass at the same time. At the western end of the bridge, there is a Kurdish checkpoint.
