St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (New Orleans, Louisiana)

This is a Catholic church built in or around 1871. This landmark church features a gold leaf-plated steeple which can be seen throughout much of the downtown area.
Originally, there was a convent next to this building, but it was purchased and demolished to make room for the expressway.
