OGEMA, (with accent on the initial long o, g as in get, and a like ah), meaning in the Ojibwe language "a chief," a city in White Earth Township, sections 18 and 19; incorporated as a village on October 28, 1907, and separated from the township on March 18, 1908; had a station of the Soo Line in section 19; its post office began in 1906 with Theodore Thoennes as postmaster and owner of the feed store. Ogema is a city in Becker County, Minnesota. The population was 184 at the 2010 Census.
