First church built around 1000 by the Abbey of 'St. Truiden'.
The present nave and chancel date from 1896 and 1829.
Only the onset of the heavy west tower and early Gothic superstructure still reminiscent of the previous situation.

Implantation at the highest point of Buvingen within a walled churhyard with ancient crosses, eastward oriented choir.
