This crossing of the Wascana Creek originated in 1885 and was important in the development of Regina and the settlements in its south. The Rainbow Bridge dates from 1920 and is the oldest bridge in Regina. It is located in the sensitive ecological waterfowl/marshland area of the creek and is a unique piece of industiral archaeology in Regina. It was designated a municipal heritage property in 1983.
