The University of Regina is a degree granting institution located in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. It presently has an enrollment of over 12,500 full and part-time students.

The University was granted autonomy in 1974 after being a junior college of the University of Saskatchewan called Regina College, originally founded in 1911, and, from 1961, the University of Saskatchewan, Regina Campus.

The original design of main campus (as of Wascana Centre itself) and its initial buildings - in a stark concrete modernist style - were by Minoru Yamasaki, the architect of the original World Trade Center in New York. This architecture, notwithstanding some criticism, has been largely retained in buildings constructed since the first structures were built.

The University has expertise in green energy technologies including enhanced oil recovery and carbon dioxide emissions programs. It was the first university in Canada to use green energy for part of its power source.
