This tramway was established in 1905 for logging from Parambikulam forests. It remained operational for the next 50 years and brought in immense wealth that contributed in the making of the Modern Port City of Cochin (Kochi). Kerala Forest Dept has launched a community based eco tourism venture along these tramway tracks as a centennail tribute to CSFTramway.
