As of 2017, manufacturing Chevrolet Express/GMC Savana full-size vans (the only location worldwide where these vans are made), and Chevrolet Colorado/GMC Canyon mid-size trucks. Employs approximately 4,600 over three shifts.

Most hourly workers are represented by UAW Local 2250.

As recently as 2006 St. Louis was the only city aside from Detroit with auto assembly plants operated by each of the Big Three. Ford's plant in Hazelwood was closed in 2006, and Chrysler's plant in Fenton was closed 2009. GM Wentzville is the only remaining assembly plant in the area.
