Neo-gothic church of 1910-1912 Initial worship first clay as a residence of hermits from the early 15th century.
In 1468 agreement between the abbot of 'Averbode' and residents of 'meerlaar' regarding consecration of the chapel and St. Nicholas Altar with a weekly Mass (not Sunday), the first stone chapel founded in 1547, in 1803 construction of a larger chapel and establishing a independent parish, chapel in 1849-1851 replaced by a first church, enlarged in 1898.
