Tessenderlo is a municipality in the Belgian province of Limburg. The municipality has more than 18,000 inhabitants. Tessenderlo belongs to the electoral canton and the judicial canton of Beringen. Historically it was part of the Limburg Kempen, but in terms of soil and folklore it belongs to the Zuiderkempen.

In addition to the center, the municipality has four more hamlets that have grown into full-fledged parishes: Hulst, Schoot, Engsbergen and Berg.

North of Tessenderlo runs the Grote Laak, while in the south a series of witness hills extends, in particular the Houterenberg and the Rodenberg. The Winterbeek flows south of here with its secondary streams such as the Grote Beek and the Kleine Beek. All these elements extend from east to west. Important nature reserves are also Gerhagen and Asdonk, which mainly extends into the adjacent municipality of Diest.
