Saedinenie Square (Varna)

Bulgaria / Varna / Varna
 square, park

Official named Saedinenie (Union sq.), but mostly known as The Red Square (Bulgarian: „Червения площад“). This is a small park as well as very busy traffic junction.
In 1940, the Varna Fair occupied the grounds and the popular name Red Square came from Soviet films shown at the Soviet pavilion there. Later, before it was demolished circa 1980, a small open-air theatre staged many of the wildest amateur rock concerts in the 1970's.
