Lord of sanctuary other name is called SALIAN KANDA THIRUMANI. In the AD17th century saliar caste peoples were living in this town.A member of this community was worried that his cow was being milked by some unknown person. One day he followed the cow and discovered it discharging milk on a bush. Enraged at this he destroyed the bush where he found a stone idol. He slashed the idol and found it bleeding.[NOW WE CAN SEE THE SCOUR ON THE LORD OF SANCTUARY] So finally they decided construct the temple for that stone idol[lord siva] so this lord of sanctuary called as SALIAN KANDA THIRUMANI
