Serdika Metrostation (Sofia)

It is designed with a weighter platform (12, not 10 meters like the rest of the stations) and it corresponds with its name - Serdika is the roman name of Sofia. The station crossed ancient roman ruins which had to be removed during constructions, so they were imprinted on the pavement of the stations platform and the decoration of the walls. The east exit of the station is connected with the underground pedestrian passage named after the central Department Store, situated near by.
Serdika underground station will be connected with Serdika underground station of Line 2, which will cross Line 1 very near to the present exits of the station.
