A neighborhood of the city of San Diego. When the area was first developed in the mid 1930's, it was named for the Talmadge sisters Norma, Constance, and Natalie. (silent screen stars of the early 1900's). The area to the west of Fairmount Avenue next to Kensington and the streets that bare the given names of the Talmadge sisters were developed in the 1930's. The western part of Talmadge was built as a middle class gated community during the post WWII housing boom. The wrought iron gates can still be seen on several streets leading into the area.

Talmadge has remained surprisingly quiet considering that it is next to two major freeways (I-8 and I-15).
