Estate home designed c. 1909 in the English Cottage style by Howard & Frenaye (Charles A. Platt?) on originally 38 acres of land for George Rathbone Dyer, Sr {financier}. Dyer served as a partner in the stock brokerage firms of C. I. Hudson & Co. and Dyer, Hudson & Co. He also served as chairman of the New York Bridge and Tunnel Comission which oversaw construction of the Holland Tunnel. Dyer commissioned landscaping by Ellen Biddle Shipman for the estate.

The estate was inherited by his son Elisha Dyer, VII who commissioned Bradley Delehanty to perform alterations in 1939 to transform the house into a rare International Style country home. In 2024, it was demolished.
