railway, abandoned / shut down, railway bridge
Cow Creek Trestle is a former railroad bridge that was abandoned in 1987. It was part of the Spokane, Portland and Seattle Railway, which was completed between Spokane and Portland in 1909. The SP&S became part of Burlington Northern in 1970, and BN abandoned this line and rerouted traffic onto a parallel former Northern Pacific line. The trestle is aproximately 1,700' in length.
