The Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad completed their mainline from Chicago to Seattle during 1909. most of the line west of Harlowton, MT, was electrified, powered by 22 substations. This section was not done, but it was planned to have substation #19 (out of 28) located here. The electric operations ended during June 1974, and the line through here was abandoned during March 1980.
