This is a full cloverleaf interchange between Interstate 66 and Virginia State Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) in Fair Lakes. There are collector distributor roads along Interstate 66 to avoid weaving movements on the interstate proper. When I-66 was originally built, a weigh station was included on the east side of the present interchange. Around 1986, the Fairfax County Parkway was first built between I-66 and US-50, with a trumpet interchange built immediately to the west of the weigh station. The interchange was expanded to a full cloverleaf, with the weigh station closed and the C-D roads built, around 1994, as the Parkway was extended south.
