Ash Cave is a spectacular, horseshoe-shaped overhang cave in Hocking Hills State Park. It's the largest recess cave in the state of Ohio, measuring 700 feet across, 100 feet deep, and 90 feet tall.
It's located at the end of a short, narrow gorge. Trails lead along the gorge floor and around the rim of the gorge. A portion of the lower trail is wheelchair accessible.
Ash Cave was named for the huge pile of ashes found there by the early settlers.
