residence, NRHP - National Register of Historic Places, 1912_construction, Colonial Revival (architecture)
Designed by Charles Platt and originally known as "The Causeway", this house was purchased by Joseph Davies and his wife, Post heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post. They first had a home on Foxhall Road before this house, which was named "Tregaron" after the Welsh village where Davies' ancestors were from. After their divorce, Davies kept the house for a while and Post developed her "Hillwood" property nearby.
It is now adaptively reused as for the Washington International School which added some academic buildings while maintaining the mansion.
