National Assembly Building (Sofia)

Bulgaria / Sofija grad / Sofia / Knyaz Alexandar I Square, 1
 parliament, 1954_construction, Stalinist (architecture)

This was the former headquarters of the Communist Party of Bulgaria.

During the events marking the collapse of communism, the building was set on fire and suffered minor damage. It is currently a secondary building for the National Assembly (the Parliament), but it is not actively used. It is still known by locals by its original name of "Party House".
