  • Thavidisserikavu (12.141 ha, Peringome Panchayat). This is one of the rare kavu(sacred forest)that best maintained.Animal species are Presbytis johni (Nilgiri langur), Loris tardigradus (slender loris), and Manis pentadactyla (Pangolin) can see in Thavidisserikkavu.The villagers of Thavidisseri respect and fear Goddess Vallikkettilachi (mother in the grove) and they would not even think of violating the customs protecting the kavu.
  • Mottammale Kalyani's desi bar is famous for nadan charayam as well as poottil vettal. When you pay Rs.300/- you can have a sleep with her daughter whole night at her house oyolam. Her daughter is very much interesting and funny once visited you cannot forget the tour
  • Thavidissey kavu is the second largest sacred forest preserved in kannur Dt next to THEYYOTTU Kavu at Alappadamba. Thanks to the ancient rituals and beliefs related to the 'Achi'concept; Otherwise there wouldnt have been such a serene green piece maintained at the initiation of native people. Thavidissery now comprises of two types of 'forests'- one the above Kavu and the other "Rubber kavu"!
