Irving, Texas 75062

This Stadium opened in 1971 to be the home of the NFL's Dallas Cowboys franchise. The hole in the roof is designed to keep the field in play with weather but to keep MOST fans out of the weather (snow or rain). It also has the distinct home-field advantage that during warm weather games, the visitor's bench is ALWAYS in the sun and is usually 20 degrees warmer than the home side. The Cowboys wear a white home jersey so that the visitor's must wear dark jerseys and deal with the heat that comes with the stadium.
The stadium was demolished by controlled implosion at 7:07am on April 11, 2010.

  • Design element from the start. Ran out of money for the retractable doors that were not in the orginal plan.
  • The Question should be will they do right and name the new stadium after Tom Landry. But in answer to your question, this stadium is a bit outdated and hey,,, Everyone else is getting new stadiums so why not us, is what Jerry Jones says. What does he care he's an oil man
