This Italian-Revival house was built by Frederick Harrison in 1855.
Villa Anneslie was designed by the architect John Rudolph Niernsee, of the architectural firm Niernsee and Nielson in Baltimore. Known for his romantic and Italianate designs, Niernsee was responsible for a number of well-known estates throughout the Baltimore area, including Clifton, Dumbarton, and possibly Wyman Villa in Baltimore City.
