The only lake where native Eagle Lake Trout thrive. They are a crossbreed of Rainbow Trout and Lahontan Cutthroat Trout that has not been able to compete elsewhere against other native or invasive species.
Eagle Lake Trout had a good start when planted at West Valley Reservoir at the north end of Lassen County, but when some jerk introduced catfish into that lake, the catfish destroyed the hatchlings of all other species.
