In this satellite view there is a rocky stream heading from the lake down to the Bay. Since zoom is not available only a shadowy line is seen in this satellite composite. This stream was the integral part of Tim Treadwell's "Grizzly Maze". he would camp here for several months in the summer and early fall to observe Grizzlies fish for Salmon in this stream. On October 5th, 2003, Treadwell and his girlfriend were mauled and devoured by a male grizzly in the area noted to the left. His favorite Bears in this area he named "Downy", "Aunt Melissa", and "Tabitha. The alpha male bear of this area is known as "The Big Red Machine".
