Waste heat from the turbine's exhaust steam is vented into the atmosphere at this mechanical-draft cooling tower. The structure's 20 cells each contain a 40-foot diameter fan. The cooled water that remains is not discharged into the river but is instead stored in collection ponds for reuse.
