This is the birthplace of Errapragada, prominent Telugu poet, who translated Andhra Mahabharatam (Left over part of Aranya Parvam started by Nannaya) into Telugu in the 13th century. Neelakanteswara swamy temple in the outskirts of the village is the temple he used to pray and worship during the translation of MahaBharat.
